Unknown World Heritage Nepal Tours

World Heritage Nepal

We have shown the itinerary on the basis of a complete holiday purely for illustrative purposes. Naturally as tailor-made Nepal holiday specialists we would be happy to discuss additional options, whether it be other activities, more/less sightseeing, alternative/upgraded accommodation etc dependent upon your interests, preferences and time available. We even tailor-make a suggested 'what to pack' list for you based upon your ultimately chosen Nepal tailor-made holiday too.

Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu

Arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be met and receive a private transfer for the short distance into central Kathmandu and to the KGH Hotel in the central Thamel district of Kathmandu. After a pre-tour briefing you can enjoy dinner tonight at one of the many, many choices in Thamel.

Accommodation: KGH Hotel -   Kathmandu

Included Meals: None

Day 2 - Explore Kathmandu

After breakfast a private vehicle (with driver & Kathmandu City Guide of course) will enable you to undertake a Full Day Guided Tour of the principle sights of Kathmandu. You'll first visit the sacred Hindu site of Pashupatinath on the banks of the Bagmati River. Next you'll head up to the Swayambunath hill top above Kathmandu, site of a Buddhist Stupa and Hindu monuments. Back into Kathmandu and after leisurely lunch your guide will take you on a walking tour of Kathmandu, including a visit to the Durbar Square. Late afternoon you'll visit the massive Buddhist Stupa at Bouddha.

Accommodation:  KGH Hotel, Kathmandu

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 3 - Budhanlikantha & Changu Narayan

Another Full Day Guided Tour by Private Vehicle. In the morning you head to the site of Budhanlikantha. It has probably the largest stone statue of Vishnu in Nepal, reclining on a bed of snakes in the middle of a pond. The location itself is one of nature & serenity in harmony. You'll then travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Changu Narayan. This is one of the best known Vishnu temples in Nepal. The temple is one of the most elaborate in the Kathmandu Valley, rich in wood and stone carvings. It is a two-tiered pagoda structure and was re-constructed in 1702 after the old one was gutted by fire. A stone tablet in the vicinity of the temple, dates from the 5th century, the oldest such inscription discovered in Nepal. The main courtyard has several temples and idols of gods with intricate carvings in stone created between the 5th to 12th centuries, making it the highest concentration of ancient art in Nepal. Late afternoon you'll arrive at the medieval city of Bhaktapur.

Accommodation: Bhadgaon Guest House -   Bhaktapur

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 - Medieval Bhaktapur

The frenetic hoolabaloo of Kathmandu is now behind you as the old part of Bhaktapur is essentially a pedestrian area. As well as exploring the temples and squares of Bhaktapur on a morning Guided Tour (on foot), your guide will also take you on a backstreets exploration of Bhaktapur. Take a leisurely lunch on the rooftop of your overnight accommodation here in Bhaktapur. By late afternoon the day trippers have usually left Bhaktapur and this is why you're staying here again tonight, as that sense of having Bhaktapur 'to yourself' and being able to wander around and observe Bhaktapur life as it really is, is more than worth it.

Accommodation: Bhadgaon Guest House, Bhaktapur

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 - Panauti, Namobuddha and the rural Kathmandu Valley

Another Full Day Guided Tour by Private Vehicle in order to explore the rural delights of the Kathmandu Valley. You'll visit the ancient Hindu temples at Panauti, as well as the spiritual Buddhist location of Namobuddha. As this is an unhurried day there'll be plenty of time to stop and take a walk into the terraced farmlands, orchards and timeless villages of the Kathmandu Valley and to observe rural life.

Accommodation: Namobuddha Resort -  Near Dhulikel/Namobuddha

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 - Off the beaten track in the Kathmandu Valley

Today you'll visit lesser known as part of a Full Day Guided Tour with Private Vehicle, but still signifcant sites in the Kathmandu Valley. Firstly you'll visit the Newari towns of Bugmati and Khokana known for wood carvers and unique mustard oil processing respectively. Indeed Khokana is a prospective World Heritage Site in itself. Next you'll visit the hill top temple of Sheshnarayan, a World Heritage site and then nearby is Neydo Monastery, which also has a very comfy guest house (en-suite rooms) and an ideal place to overnight. The monks at the monastery are very welcoming and you can watch any prayers/rituals and explore the monastery.

Accommodation: Neydo Guest House, Neydo Monastery

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 - To Chitwan Overland

Now you head south and down into the Terai region of Nepal and everything becomes flat! It's around 6 hours to Chitwan by private vehicle. Chitwan is of course a World Heritage Site too.

Accommodation: Into The Wild Resort -  Chitwan

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 9 - Overland to Kathmandu

It's around 6 hours by private vehicle to Kathmandu, so you should arrive late afternoon.

Day 10 - Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park & Patan

An early start as a private vehicle will take you to the domestic terminal at Kathmandu Airport. Here you'll take the dramatic mountain flight to see Everest. The Sagarmatha National Park (which Everest is within) is again a World Heritage site and there can be no easier (or dramatic) way of seeing this region than from a guaranteed window seat of a small plane, unless of course you wish to undertake several days of challenging trekking! You'll most likely be back at your hotel by mid-morning and in the early afternoon a private vehicle will take you to the city of Patan for an afternoon guided tour including the World Heritage Durbar Square.

Accommodation: KGH Hotel, Kathmandu

Included Meals: Breakfast

Day 11 - Depart Nepal

A private transfer will take you to the airport for your return international flight.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Of course there's no reason to depart today, your Nepal holiday can be readily tailor-made.
